Custom Logo Design for Bahamas Vacation Video
In Fall 2023, I took a cruise to the Bahamas with my girlfriend—a spontaneous, joy-filled trip that ended up exceeding all expectations. As a keepsake and creative outlet, I edited a travel video using footage captured throughout the trip, pairing it with the upbeat track “One More Time” by Roy Head. I wanted the video’s introduction to be more than just a title card—I wanted it to be a custom visual identity that reflected the energy, nostalgia, and tropical magic we experienced.
Process:
The process began in reverse: with the video editing. As I compiled and relived our trip, I paid close attention to the emotions I felt—freedom, warmth, excitement—and began designing a logo that captured those sensations.
Inspired by the rhythm of the song and the vibrant culture of the Bahamas, I selected a tropical-styled font that felt fluid, laid-back, and celebratory. I also incorporated a bit of historical consideration into the overall aesthetic, infusing subtle elements that nodded to the Bahamas’ rich heritage.
To tie the identity together, I chose a yellow and lime green color palette. Yellow conveys warmth, sunshine, and joy; lime green evokes energy, nature, and adventure—mirroring the balance of calm and thrill that defined the trip. The final logo served as the video’s visual anchor, setting the tone before a single frame of footage played.
This project combined my love for storytelling and visual design in a personal way. It wasn’t just about travel—it was about creating something that elevated a personal experience into a piece of art and memory.
